Jema Nante to get modern sanitary facilities

The Community Livelihoods Support Organization (COLISO GHANA), a non-governmental organization that helps to improve the socio-economic conditions of the rural communities in Ghana has commenced a project to provide a two (2) twelve seater flush toilet facilities with installed water pumps at Jema Nante in Kintampo South District

in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. The project is being financed by the Flemish Government, Flemish Partnership for Water Development, FOS Belgium, TMVW-Waterlink, City of Antwerp, Fuji Oil and Ghana Council Belgium 

The crowd burst into cheers as the FOS Programmes Director Mr Kwaku Boama Acheampong who is also the President of the Ghana Council in Belgium announced to the people of Nante about the project. This is because the people in the community have not had toilet facilities for quite a long time

On behalf of the people, Nana Asamoah Boafo II, chief of the Town thanked Mr. Acheampong and the Belgium donors for the funds to implement the project

The Executive Director, Mr Yaw Asante-Anyimadu said the project was expected to be completed in December 2015. He added that in order to strengthen the ownership of the project as well as to promote participation of the community, COLISO together with the Town Development Committee would facilitate in the mobilization of the people to partake in the activities

Mr. Karl Mudenda, a South African banker and an associate of COLISO who travelled form South Africa to participate in the launching ceremony of the project advised the people to desist from sitting on the fence whiles, watching COLISO to do the work alone, instead, he said they should contribute their quota in labour and other materials.

Also present at the launching ceremony was Ms. Axelle Meyermans, a Graduate Student of Anthropology from the Catholic University, Leuven in Belgium.
