Health Presentation and Donation by Coliso at Akim Gyadam

The City of Antwerp in collaboration with Okyeman Union in Belgium through community Livelihood Support Organization (COLISO) a Non Governmental organization in Ghana have donated health equipment to Akim Gyadam community health centre.

Mr. Kwaku Boamah Acheampong the president of Ghanaian Community in Belgium and also a patron of COLISO Ghana who made the presentation said some aims and objectives of the organization is on health and sanitation and that they will do a lot to help improve the health status of people in Ghana as people of Gyadam have witnessed their own. Free screening on eye test, diabetes and HIV/AIDS test for pregnant women was made.

He therefore advised the people to be fast in reporting cases of infections for early treatment and be frequent at the place for checkups.

The Birim central Municipal Health Director Miss Anastasia Atiogbe, appreciated the effect made by COLISO in donating the equipment consisting

  • 1 set of computer
  • 10 plastic chairs
  • 2 weighing scales and
  • 4000 niddles injections

NB: All worth Ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 10,000)

According to Miss Atiogbe, this kind gesture was made possible by the effort of Mr. William Quaitoo, the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency.

Madam Susana Acheampong, a mid-wife in charge of the Old Town Sub Municipal including Akim Gyadam, thanked the organization for the donation. She then appealed to other benevolent organization and well meaning individuals to do likewise
